Few shoes can claim such a legendary influence as the Nike Air Max 1. First released in 1987, the shoe drew inspiration from the Pompidou Centre in Paris and was created by innovative footwear designer Tinker Hatfield. The Nike Air Max 1 was the first shoe to have visible Air Max, at the time this was a revolutionary step in the footwear world, changing designs forever.

The new Nike Air Max 1 comes in a Black / Black - Black - Gum Medium Brown colourway and works as a reengineered homage to it’s predecessor.

Staying true to the original, the silhouette of the Nike Air Max 1 remains mostly unchanged, while this edition gets a rework with a leather, mesh and synthetic upper, with the Swoosh housed in leather.

The visible Nike Air Max unit is still in place, with an added foam sole, just to add to the comfort, while Nike have put a rubber outsole in place to finish things off.

The aesthetic of this edition is super clean, with the majority of the shoe coming in black, with the only contrasts from the gum outsole.

Nike Air Max branding can be found via a woven patch on the tongue and an embroidered logo on the heel.
